Bruce C. Potter, M.D. Scholarship Application Instructions
Scholarship Applications are due no later than May 15, 2021.
- The Bruce C. Potter Memorial Scholarship is a competitive annual award for high school seniors or college students in good standing who have completed one or more Northern Area Health Education Center programs (MASH Camp, Job Shadowing, Camp Med, Northern Borders PTECH, or Rural Immersion) and have been accepted and will be entering a healthcare training program within the next semester cycle.
- Applicants must be residents of Jefferson, Lewis, St. Lawrence, Franklin, Clinton, or Essex counties.
- The Scholarship selection criteria is based on academic achievement, community engagement, career plan, character, and personal (summary) statement.
- The Bruce C. Potter Memorial Scholarship recipient shall be provided a monetary award determined by the NAHEC Board of Directors based on funding availability.
The Bruce C. Potter Scholarship application can be accessed here. If you have trouble accessing the online form, you may request a copy by contacting the NAHEC office at (315) 379-7701. Three personal and/or professional letters of references are required. References must accompany the application for the candidate to be considered. An official transcript of your grades to date must be sent from your school to NAHEC by May 15, 2021.
Read and complete the Bruce C. Potter Memorial Scholarship Application as completely as possible. Please complete the online application or submit a typed or printed one to: NAHEC, Inc., 1 Main Street, Suite 102, Canton, New York 13617, attn: Molly Dyer, Interim Center Director. Incomplete applications will not be considered and must be received by May 15, 2021.
Individual applications, reference letters, and school transcripts shall be reviewed and scored competitively by the NAHEC Board of Directors.
- Award Presentation
The 2021 Scholarship Award will be presented virtually due to the ongoing COVID pandemic. The recipient will be notified as soon as a date for the presentation is set.
