This one-hour workshop will begin with a brief overview of motivational interviewing (MI) and cultural humility (CH) as praxis frameworks. We will then explore how integrating both can improve engagement experiences and practices when working with people who use drugs or who’ve experienced traumas. Practical strategies will also be discussed.
Learning Objectives: By the end of this workshop, participants should be able to me to:
  1. Describe one benefit of integrating motivational interviewing with cultural humility.
  2. Identify one strategy to implement in your practice with individuals.
