Rural Communities Opioid Response Program (RCORP)

Northern Area Health Education Center received a grant through the United States Department of Health and Human Services for the period September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2024 to provide opioid prevention education in our service area. NAHEC utilized these funds to coordinate and collaborate with local community-based partners to host six community engagement events focusing on prevention, treatment, and recovery strategies. Along with multiple trainings for health care providers and first responders. NAHEC will also work to establish an online platform to provide the community and health care providers resources and education related to substance use.

Important partners include St. Lawrence County Public Health, Seaway Valley Prevention Council, St. Lawrence County Community Services, New York State Clinical Education Initiative (CEI), New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASES), and Clarkson University.
