Higher education opportunities can be cost-prohibitive. One of NAHEC’s core goals is the help make healthcare education more accessible for all students. We are proud to offer scholarship opportunities for the students in our region.

In 2011, NAHEC established the Bruce C. Potter Memorial Scholarship as a legacy to honor Bruce’s tireless commitment to building healthcare access for those most in need. The scholarship is a competitive annual award for High School Seniors or College Students in good standing who have completed one or more NAHEC programs (MASH Camp, Rural Immersion, or Rural Health Exploration) and have been accepted and will be entering a healthcare training program within the next semester cycle.

As part of the larger New York State AHEC System, NAHEC is one of nine centers in the State of New York offering statewide capacity for addressing healthcare workforce needs.
