Our Programs

Our Pipeline to Practice approach connects students to careers, professionals to communities, and communities to better health.  We offer health careers exploration; continuing education programs and services; clinical training opportunities; and community partnership development.

M.A.S.H CAMP

MASH Camp (Medical Academy of Science and Health) is a one-day camp where students explore health careers. Held at a local healthcare facility, campers learn about various health professions, their educational requirements, job duties, and key skills. They also participate in hands-on workshops to experience the tools and technology used in these careers.

CAMP MED
Camp Med is a healthcare career exploration event for middle and high school students. Local professionals give students insight into various careers, including hands-on experience with skills like taking vital signs, suturing, and EMS techniques. Students also learn the differences between working in clinics, private offices, and hospitals.
JOB SHADOWING PLACEMENT
Job Shadowing allows students to explore careers by spending a day with a professional in a community business or medical facility. They observe daily tasks, interact with clients, and attend meetings, gaining insight into the field while developing skills and building occupational knowledge.
AHEC SCHOLARS

The NYS AHEC Scholars Program is a two-year, interdisciplinary program with a defined set of clinical, didactic, and community-based training activities.

RURAL IMMERSION

NAHEC partners with colleges and rural healthcare providers to support the Rural Healthcare Immersion Program. Rural areas tend to lack widespread and accessible healthcare services compared to suburban and urban areas. This program promotes the local community to future healthcare providers.
